I know my way around motorcycles pretty well (could do just about anything on the one I owned) and just bought a car after 20 years and now starting to learn my may around it. I've done the shocks/struts and fuel pump; need to replace front rotors, tie rod, control arms.
i think gas powered cars are killing our planet but after this website introduced me to My Summer Car I now understand your addiction. (I am playing MSC on the regular lately and in a week or two have clocked in 55 hours on the damn thing)
I bought a 2003 Land Rover Discovery with like 180k miles and a bunch of issues a few years ago for basically nothing, did the coilover suspension conversion, fixed the gauge cluster and climate control blend door problems, put new coil packs on it, and finally splurged on a set of aftermarket off road bumpers to replace the crumbly OEM bumper covers. Overall it was pretty rewarding but not something I would want to do full time.
