Having spent a fair bit of time in Japan, I can tell you this is one of those cultural cottage industries that long ago crossed over into the world of (Japanese) big business. Nice to see how some is still hand-made though.

Pretty sure a lot of people watch this and say, "Pfft... I can do that."

Then, hours later, they're staring at a bunch on indistinct lumps shouting, "WHAT THE FUCK? He's just pouring wax in water! HOW THE FUCK IS THIS SO HARD?"
