Interestingly enough there's even a thing that talks about force users learning to constantly form a shield preventing their own lightsaber's button from being flicked by another force user.
Because what would be even better than this move anakin shows? How about just turning off your opponents lightsaber once you're locked into one of those nonsensical saber clashes (despite neither side having hilts and valuing their thumbs/hands.)
I preferred the lore I made up in my head as a kid for the original trilogy: force powers just don't directly work on other force users. Just because.
It got really silly when the future movies ignored the IRON CLAD KID LOGIC that I came up with. If you can push or choke other force users, why not just go for crushing the heart or a brain vessel?
(logic: it takes less magic jedi effort to counteract an offensive force action on your own person than it does to offensively project it onto someone else)
Presumably, when someone goes to block your lightsaber with their lightsaber, you could just flicker it off to avoid the block, and then cut their head off.
Much about Star Wars doesn't make sense if you really get into it.
Unlike Star Trek which is based on Science and Logic.
