It'd be cool for a comedian to make post-mortem skits that will be extra hilarious released after their death, but unless you're very unlucky you'd have to keep re-recording them every fe wyears to stay contemporary.
The only post-mortem skit I ever saw was a Yul Brynner anti-smoking ad, where he's all "I'm dead now because smoking killed me, oh God don't smoke it sucks that I'm dead argh"

godot - 2009-11-13 Carlin had some funny routines, but like many of the other members of the comedy pantheon (incl Bruce, Hicks, Hicks II (Cross)), he gets a LOT of credit for subpar material because we agree with him.
