Xiphias - 2010-10-20 It's a conservative latino organization that does NOT endorse Angle - that's the reason why they told people not to vote. They're anti-democrat but hate Angle.
|
fedex - 2010-10-20 ummm....you realize that still doesn't make it okay right?
|
|
asian hick - 2010-10-21 No. Endorsements matter in how a group can define itself under the tax code. When a group endorses a candidate, it loses its status as a 501(c) tax-emept organization and donors to it can no longer write off their donations as a charitable contribution.
However, they are allowed to "educate" the public on issues and this provides the justification for them getting involved in politics.
Basically, over time various organizations' "education" has come closer and closer to endorsing a candidate but stop just short of it. At this point, there's usually very little doubt what candidate these groups support, so an official endorsement is dangerous and unnecessary to the group and its donors.

Holy fuck.
|
takewithfood - 2010-10-20 That said, I don't think you can really attribute this to Sharron Angle. It works in her favour, certainly, but this isn't her organization.
|
takewithfood - 2010-10-20 I should clarify: If latino voters actually decided not to vote, it would help Angle. The ad itself will probably help Reid, as long as he isn't too much of an ass about it.

Sharon Angle: Message to angry latino citizens we sometimes confuse as illegal immigrants or Asian people-- us angry white folk will generously vote on your behalf. Just stay home drink a cervaza and watch soccer. K thanks!

Might be worth trying against Tea Partiers - 'all current GOP candidates are sellout RINOs who don't support geocentrism and heresy trials, so stay at home.'

I too am tired of people who sit on their promises to help me! I want people in power who I can count on to fuck me over.

asian hick - 2010-10-20
i like how they're not even trying to get latinos to vote for angle. instead they've resorted to trying to fuck up democracy.

themilkshark - 2010-10-20
What a huge waste of money. Non-voters don't need you to ask them to be lazy asses.

I like how through the whole thing he speaks without any accent right until he says "Latinos for reform"

spikestoyiu - 2010-10-20
Remember the old urban legend about people distributing fliers in black and latino neighborhoods about coming out to vote the day AFTER election day?

Toenails - 2010-10-20
In honor of this commercial, I didn't vote on this while it was in the hopper.
I'm pretty sure you guys got my message loud and clear.

Dear Latinos,
Why don't you ask African Americans why they vote Democratic 98% of the time.
