Nice DERP expression in the preload image.

joelkazoo - 2010-11-13

I'd say it's more of an "Urk!" expression.

-1 for not being evil enough.

jyrque - 2010-11-14

DERP! Oh, how hilarious! Like that internet thing!

memedumpster - 2010-11-13

Message of the video : The Roman Empire was a socialist utopia compared to us.

Oscar Wildcat - 2010-11-13

The flaming asshole in the center of the screen nicely distracts from the flaming asshole to the right. OMG, BEWARE OF FRANCE!!!!

IrishWhiskey - 2010-11-13

This is definitely an important message. A lot of people don't know that the Tea Party is a libertarian, Randian movement that believes people should be free to live their own personal lives free of interference and opposes government programs like Medicare, Social Security and the military. Like all those people at the Tea Party rallies, for instance.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-11-13

My favorite part is how you can read in any "fair" history book how progressivism, aspirational philosophies and government itself have never accomplished anything in history except slaughter. Fair being defined here as any history book that contains this specific message.

PegLegPete - 2010-11-13

The basic philosophy that everything we do is ultimately self-serving and somehow misanthropic and destructive in effect is false. Furthermore the market and competition clearly do not make everything better and supposing that we are primarily selfish by nature does not mean we even want to compete or have a damn job for that matter. We are not all ambition-driven power beasts that want to rule atop a throne of bones like an emaciated Conan while tatter-adorned peasants grovel at our feet. In fact, the greed and selfishness promoted by this ideology got us into a global fucking financial crisis and the concentrated power that this guy fears was born right out of the private sector. Enforceable legislation is important, "rules" are important; without which we are no longer a society - we lack consensus.

oddeye - 2010-11-13

I used to think like this but then I grew up. Big government is far better for us than big companies.

FABIO - 2010-11-13

Libertarians are literally mental teenagers who honestly think the world would be a better place if only all the RULES went away.

baleen - 2010-11-13

There are no libertarians in the Tea Party.
Fuck Murray Rothbard and the anarcho-syndicalist refuse cum paleoconservative dumbshit collective.

memedumpster - 2010-11-14

No one sane in the history of the human species has ever uttered the words "government will save us" and meant it.

Paracelsus - 2010-11-14

The tea party is a mob too fat to storm the Bastille.

Blaise - 2010-11-13

Never knew they made eyebrow plugs.

takewithfood - 2010-11-13

"What we are against is an all-powerful, all-controlling state that thinks it is entitled to as much money as it wants, and can make whatever laws it sees fit to impose, with or without your consent."

That's what does it for me. There are some other gems in there, but holy fuck, what a cartoonishly stupid thing to say.

Sputum - 2010-11-14

It's actually kind of true if you live in Massachusetts.

FABIO - 2011-09-03

MORE LIKE TAXACHUSETTS WHO'S WITH ME GO PATS WOOOO!

StanleyPain - 2010-11-13

I'm not a whackjob or some sort of nutbag! I just use bizarre, uninformed, pseudo-intellectual arguments to make my point, like, for example, comparing any form of progressive social agenda to Soviet Russia! Because those two are really exactly the same thing! I mean...putting up a picture of Stalin and then immediately switching to a picture of the White House doesn't make me a historical dunce AT ALL! Seriously! I am explaining batshit crazy things in a calm manner, this means what I am saying is correct!
Also, being totally uneducated in all the things you talk about brings you "down to earth."

citrusmirakel - 2010-11-13

I like that members of the Tea Party have to explain the actual actual ethos of the Tea Party movement - and everyone has a very different answer.
Hey, Jesus-flag wavin' neo-cons! According to this guy, this most fundamental belief you have is in Social Darwinism! How's that gel with everything else you profess to believe?

FABIO - 2010-11-13

It all comes down to the age old question:

"How big of an idiot do you have to be to honestly believe that we'd be better off with NO government."

Senator_Unger - 2010-11-13

Ah, the old Tea Party chestnut of "BOTH parties are to blame!" I believe that argument would have held more water had you formed any time before two weeks into Obama's presidency.

Honestly, if you want to know what intellectual honesty is like, ask the Quakers in my town who have been protesting Afghanistan, then Iraq, since December, 2001.

FABIO - 2010-11-14

I'm pretty sure you mean "the past 30 years".

Adramelech - 2010-11-13

Somebody should go tell the rest of the Teabaggers about this. Most of them appear to be under the impression that it's about wearing colonial hats with NASCAR t-shirts and hanging up Obama Joker posters.

kingarthur - 2010-11-14

Dear Bill Whittle (assuming you are the host of this program),

You look like Norah Vincent in drag. Therefore, are you indeed Norah Vincent?

Sincerely,
A concerned citizen.

Riskbreaker - 2010-11-14

FREE MARKET AND NO GOVERMENT! LET'S GO BACK TO TRADE FISH AND CHICKENS JUST LIKE OUR FOUNDING FATHERS USED TO DO!

cognitivedissonance - 2010-11-14

Know-Nothings ---> KKK ----> Silver Shirts ----> Liberty Leaguers ----> John Birch Society ----> Moral Majority ----> Rush Limbaugh ----> Toby Keith/Wal-Mart ----> Joe Six Pack ----> Tea Party.

And there you have it.

dystopianfuturetoday - 2010-11-14

Is that the eye of Sauron?

godot - 2010-11-14

The Tea Party doesn't exist. It began an anti-corporatist movement but the popular anger at the credit bubble collapse and the TARP was co-opted within months by GOP astroturfing to pro-corporatist and theocratic ends. Karl Denninger has been on point on this for the past month, if you're interested.
