Modern Sesame Street is both hilarious and nerve-jarringly uncomfortable at the same time. There is something charmingly treasonous it has done to my sense of childhood.
That 'moxy' has always been kind of there when you think about it.
I once had a dream that I was watching a heated debate between Louis Farrakhan and Kermit the Frog.
Later, Kermit would have a heated debate with Bill O'Reiley for real over that South African muppet controversy. Thus proving that muppets can top even fever dreams.
Sadly, the Henson company only performed the bits, that were written by the SNL writers (due to contractual obligation). The SNL writers hated the Henson bits for really stupid and petty reasons and basically tended up torpedoing the whole affair.
They also completely blew it with Andy Kaufman.
When you look back at it, even the golden era of SNL was pretty shitty. Although they at least had a few good sketches per show once upon a time.
Someone should tell cookie monster to eat more slowly. He loses huge chunks of cookie with his boorish, slobbery eating style. -1 for promoting American Wastefulness. Hahah. I kid.
