Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2015-01-07
I love the eric andre show but I hate these bits. Maybe they serve some purpose in making the rest of the show seem better, like a song with an awesome verse and shitty bridge.

That guy - 2015-01-07 The best bits are good. The worst are these lame fake public stunts.

That guy - 2015-01-07 It's a network, dude.
Also, do you think anyone's ever blurred a face to make it feel like "they didn't have permission"? Or done 8 other things to make it seem that way??
You have an imagination like an ostrich wing.

infinite zest - 2015-01-07 That may be true, but here's a good contrary example..

That's me in the brown shirt at the end. I didn't want to do it and was on mushrooms but that's besides the point. Notice how they blurred out my friend's t-shirt but none of the faces on the passersby. And if I recall, his shirt was from some place nobody would know about, unlike someone wearing a Reebok t-shirt for a Nike commercial. And unlike Andre, tens of millions of people saw that stupid thing, if not billions, since it was on at the Grammys or something. I don't think that Andre would go into a place, have everyone sign a release form and then do his routine. And after it's over, it would make sense to make sure everyone's cool with it, but while I got a bunch of money, and whatever t-shirt did not, neither did all the passersby.

That guy - 2015-01-08 t-shirt: safety's sake, since logos/brand will get you sued very readily, even if no one's heard of it
passers-by: no one's recognizable
Comedy Central assumes some responsibility for funding his production company. So if I have to guess, I'm guessing that the show staged the whole thing, or got waivers from people on the way in to the store.
I'm guessing this specifically about this sketch because he chases after people etc.

infinite zest - 2015-01-08 If it was Comedy Central I'd agree, but Adult Swim's gotten in trouble before,

and refusing to back down

Comedy Central did buckle under the all-too-relevant pressure of the Family Guy episode, where they decided to pull the image of Muhammad but in a way I see their logic. That show's watched by millions worldwide, with a headquarters potentially facing a possible real-life attack, whereas ATHF had a small following at the time, the network banning it simply because it was in bad taste in the face of a bunch of people scared of being blown up and then feeling embarrassed about it. AS seems to give Andre full control over the city, and his pranks seem no more harmless than Tom Green's or what I used to see on the British (then CC) show Trigger Happy TV.

That guy - 2015-01-09 Eh, ok, it's got a chance. I still vote fake though.

Boomer The Dog - 2015-01-07
That's some pretty striking Dalmatian-man makeup, not all Dog costuming works so well, but this does. It reminds me of what AlexKovas has been doing in his videos as a Dalmatian, Doberman and fox.

EvilHomer - 2015-01-08 Yeah, he's been posted before. I think he was posted here recently, too.
I thought it might be him when I glanced at the preload, but no such luck.

Boomer The Dog - 2015-01-08 It took me a while to get used to the Doberman, I had an idea that it was just a Dogplay video at first, and plus he has no fur. I think he does okay on the Doggie mannerisms, and the Doberman head looks pretty real.
The preload image is a good view, showing that they did pretty well on the face, eyes and muzzle, with the extra large ears that give him more of a puppy look, to offset some of the buff.
