I wanted to see this movie really, really bad because I was about five years old and loved dinosaurs. My parents declined, and the film must've disappeared from theaters real quick. For years all I saw of it was a clip in a TV special about dinosaurs.

My sister was about five or six when it came out and she didn't like it. This scene really upset her and she started crying. I heard a lot of other little kids in the theater start crying. Disney had pushed this as a family movie, like "E.T." but with a dinosaur.

Having seen this movie, I can't imagine what kind of tie-in merchandise they could have released for it.

Did McDonald's offer a plastic cup with a dead dinosaur on it?
