This creates a paradox in which they mock CNN for their low ratings while also believing the entirety of the left watches it. This might have added to their inability to believe Trump lost the 2020 election. Similar to how they use lawn signs and bumper stickers as a metric, they can't believe Biden won when CNN's ratings are so low.
