This was a remake (continuation?) of the original Kung Fu show from the 60's or 70's, also starring Carradine. Bruce Lee also auditioned for that role but didn't get it.
I once worked as an extra on this show. The day I was there, Carradine was allegedly too drunk to perform, so we did different scenes than the ones scheduled. If you watch the show with this in mind, it really illuminates his performance.
I used to watch this thing a lot, during that dark time I was without basic cable and had to rely on what you could pick up on local channels and syndicated action programing infested local station time slots like nits.
KUNG FU: THE LEGEND CONTINUES - Fridays at 3:00 AM! or something like that.
Especially if it was like a local Fox affiliate broadcasting from a headquarters slightly larger than a pre-fab toolshead or local UHF or independent VHF station. Showing every low-budget action-extrvaganza at the time.
