Further proof that god actualy hates the red states
|
Anaxagoras - 2010-05-19 If you've ever been to Oklahoma, you'd immediately see why God hates it so. He gave the people perfectly good land, and they created a hate-filled, xenophobic, and willfully ignorant society.
What a shithole.
|
TimidAres - 2010-05-20 Yeah, pretty much.
People are generally pretty nice down here, if youre white.
Oklahomans have a simple state of mind that funnels down every race into its own stereotyped sub-category.
If youre black, youre considered worthless or a criminal.
If youre arabic, youre a terrorist, or you are related to one.
If youre indian, you do drugs or deal them.
Theres enough war veterans down here to still advocate hate against asians, despite nationality.
Everyone's new favorite to pick on is hispanics. You are immediately labeled as "mexican" and are a threat, because "theyre taking over this country" through illegal immigration.
Lots of people get mugged or vandalized just because they arent white. Hell, even if you are white youll get mugged.
All the while, you have evangelicals screaming in your ear about jesus, our state-wide news even runs stories every now and then about "faith" and whatnot.
It just sucks here.

Is this abnormal or something?
I lived in Oklahoma for seven years and hail like this happens every spring, ranging from marble sized to softball sized. Before that I lived in So Cal which has perfect weather all year so this never happens. I assumed large hail was normal for the middle of the country though.
|
Daddy Warcrimes - 2010-05-19 I think it might be normal for the southern plains, but I lived in Kansas City for about 10 years when I was a kid and I don't remember anything quite like this. (Plenty of hail, but nothing bigger than grape size.)
I live in Southern California now, and I do miss those thunderstorms. I do not miss the winter ice storms though.
|
TimidAres - 2010-05-19 This guy must not have been in oklahoma very long if hes never seen hail like this. We get frequent hail every year, given that its normally not this large.
A few of my friends had holes in their roofs and thousands of dollars of damage to their cars because of this storm, and we all live about 40 miles south of OKC.
Were supposedly going to have another round like this tonight, I cant wait.

Chibisuke - 2010-05-19 How do you get car insurance when mother nature at any time can destroy the shit out of your car?

What shitty camerawork.

mashedtater - 2010-05-19
i wanted to see hail break something, but that was pretty intense.
ive lived in northern indiana for a good portion of my life, and i dont think ive seen it that intense before. we dont really get hail though....
|
sparklefatty - 2010-05-19
I live in MA. Rarely, if ever, do we get pea-sized hail. Aquarium-gravel sized hail is about the limit.

"Ha ha ha ha! Most effective, your majesty! Will you destroy this...Earth?"
"Later. I like to play with things awhile before...annihilation."

-1 star for the camera work.
It's time to make a stand against people who can't even come close to holding a camera steady.

Yep, that's gonna leave a dent in that car.

I always enjoy imagining the original white settlers dealing with this shit with nothing but a sheet of canvas over their wagon-bed.
