i do appreciate christian elton john's sentiment here, but i really hate it when people say something along the lines of "white, black, yellow, green, polka-dot... we're all the same!" i've heard it a bunch of times out of white people trying to sound non-biased, but i think it's a pretty gross way of unconsciously trivializing the realities of racism. it's really stupid actually.
