It depends on what you mean by "Gregorian Chant" - the specific, academically-defined style of music? The broader, aesthetically-defined style of music? The famous choir itself?

Pffft, everyone knows that if the music doesn't have electric guitars, it's considered Country.

Country is nothing but electric guitars. If the country artist uses acoustic guitars it becomes folk music.

@gs I haven't sung with them since I was 12 years old. I used to be a boy soprano. For a while there we were considered #1 in the world, and sung for the only strictly Latin Church in North America, or at least west of the Mississippi. We sang at the Vatican and all sorts of other places in the world.

As far as Chant goes, I believe there was some controversy back when the first CD was released in the 90s, because they were all posers in robes but now I'm not sure if this is the same Chant (it was basically techno Gregorian chant) and the church called blasphemy on it.

As far as I go, I used the money from my chant experiences to buy wu tang clan tapes. They were also not official monks.

Fake poser country, maybe. If you're one of these Dierks Bentley / Luke Bryan lovin' wannabe rock n' roll jits, sure alright whatever, but REAL country's gotta be made the way GOD intended.

And no, they are not monks. I posted a link to their Wikipedia article above: according to that, they are mostly choir and session musicians. One of them is the wife of the dude who produced Enigma and Sarah Brightman. The monk thing is just for show.
