I love this guy. Even when he's dead wrong (which is fairly often, actually) he's entertaining & clear.
Great videos.

Old_Zircon - 2016-07-09 A lot of his best stuff is when he's wrong.

EvilHomer - 2016-07-10 Lloyd's hypothesis about PTSD stemming directly from ethics (which he's been alluding to for a few videos now) is wrong (or at least unsupported), but otherwise, so far as I can tell, the information he presents here is spot-on.
I'd be interested to hear what he has to say about Killology, video games, and the corporate mass media.

Anaxagoras - 2016-07-10 Yeah, he's a little off base when he blames ethics, but I suspect he's on to something with that general line of reasoning. What we find traumatic depends on the discrepancy between what we want/expect to happen, and what actually happens. Nobody wants to see their friend with a mortal wound, so I'm pretty sure that's always traumatic. But seeing men in general dying? If they're not people you know or care about, and the society you live in has trained you to largely turn off your empathy, I would imagine that general carnage would be less traumatic.
Plus there was much less "general carnage" overall in ancient battles, since there were fewer men to be carnaged in the first place.
I dunno. Sounds reasonable, at any rate.

Old_Zircon - 2016-07-10 I agree, over all this is one of his least wrong opinion pieces yet.

As many as have the capacity to kill a man, I suppose.
