He's 82.

SolRo - 2022-12-17

Maybe he needs money to cover his hair dye bills?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2022-12-17

Do we still need him? Will we still feed him?

cognitivedissonance - 2022-12-19

If only those Thuggees had done their job, god damn it.

yogarfield - 2022-12-19

Is there an actual story behind this, or just a non sequitur?

I ask because to me the Beatles are just some boring boy band that old folks like, but the idea of a garroting plot against a third rate drummer is hilarious.

cognitivedissonance - 2022-12-19

Help! was a film where Ringo Starr was targeted by Thuggees for his possession of their sacred ring.

I hosted HELP on MNR once, and I was taken completely by surprise by the all the hate. The Beatles were never my special thing (THAT would be the Rolling Stones), but it never occurred to me that anyone could ever hate the Beatles... and apparently EVERYONE hates the Beatles now!

Well, trust me, kids, the Beatles were great. You'll get it when you're old, and if not, some of your grandchildren are going to dig the Beatles. When it happens, maybe you'll think of poor old dead JHM... but I'm not counting on that.

I'm going to be 65 in March, and I think I want to start listening to the Beatles again, along with some other timeless musical artists from the last century: Hank Williams, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, BIllie Holiday. You get old, and music is no longer where you look to for your identity. It's ALL my music now!
When I hear a song on the Supermarket sound system that I haven't heard in 30 years, I wonder if this is the last time I'll hear it. It's all so finite. It always has been, but now I'm starting to feel it.

He probably doesn't need the money, and he probably hasn't needed it since 1966.

lol, watched one scene. Ringo gets electrocuted by scientists, turns red and his pants fall down. Thuggees beating the shit out of the Beatles would be more entertaining.

Beatles were always boring, and the Stones had one good song: Heartbreaker. And maybe that live recording where they hired the Hell's Angels for security and they start beating the shit out of the crowd during Under My Thumb.

Either way, both horribly overrated bands.

"He probably doesn't need the money, and he probably hasn't needed it since 1966."

He was obviously huge while in the Beatles and the early 70's but by the 80's his albums weren't selling and he had a huge coke problem.

When he did Thomas the Tank Engine it was essentially to keep from ending up homeless. It wasn't until the All Starr Band formed and began touring and the Anthologies came out that his finances recovered.

mon666ster - 2022-12-19

Because his children are untalented and will starve after he's gone.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2022-12-21

Hipsters gotta hip.

>>>the Stones had one good song: Heartbreaker..

Are you trying to kill me, by tricking me into face-palming myself to death?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2022-12-21

Damn. As one of my many fans observed: for me, the REPLY button is somehow a brain teaser.
