Google has had every book digitized for years now. You, as a member of the public, can't really see them, but Google does use their content to make profit for itself by, e.g. training translation and text AIs on it. These then put humans out of work.

As a kid that grew up on the techno-optimism of the 90s, it can be momentarily painful to think about what the internet could have been.
