I watched this ONCE while I was at work in a video store, forgetting how fucking sad the end actually is. It was all flowers and sausages right up until this part, then quiet, yet uncontrollable tears just as like five families walked in.

"The Iron Giant" always puts me in mind of this ancient "The Onion" article:

5 stars though the book was better.

Great great movie, a very good adaptation of the book.
Except for the ending, in the book the giant tricks a space monster into flying into the sun.

Said monster's tongue is described to be the size of Australia.

Oh god I just read the descriptions the guy who posted this put up with it. His idea for a sequel is pretty much exactly what I have always feared will happen some day. A movie where more giants show up that are full on weapons no memory problems and the original giant is forced to fight them.
