Anecdotal: my best friend was bipolar / schizoaffective. I knew him from childhood. He was always a weird guy, but a fun weird guy.

He was an Organic Chemistry major, and really fucking bright. Then he hit an information silo with Alex Jones, and I swear to God his brain fucking stopped.

Did not finish his degree, started spouting absolute nonsense. Nobody could tell him he was wrong. He was institutionalized a couple dozen times, and I started receiving death threats from a kid that was my brother for over 20 years.

So yeah, I hate this from personal experience. If I ever saw Alex Jones in real life, it would be pretty hard to stop me from repeatedly sinking my hand into his fat fraud face.

I know people who were discharged from the service over vaccine refusal. It pisses me off that these people threw away their careers over what Alex Jones or other conspiracy fucks were saying. Alex Jones won't pay their bills. I just don't get it. They were fine with being the military's pincushion when they went to basic training. Now they die up on the hill of covid vaccine conspiracies.

@cena Exactly. They already had a battery of jabs when they enlisted. Boggles the mind.

And then they look around their units. All their vaccinated peers are doing just fine. No blood clots, DNA changes, or whatever else the fuck these clowns thought would happen. The vaccine has been in wide use for over two years. You still can't say it's untested at this point. Just vague arguments over religious freedom, or just individual freedom in general. Again, you didn't give a fuck about being such an individual when you sign up.

@sputum I appreciate it. It's a weird way to lose somebody, especially when it went from "My hunting knife is missing so I'm sleeping with a champagne bottle under my pillow in case he tries to kill me", to me just cutting him off because he was sending me massive rants about "abortion mills".

This shit is absolutely toxic. And to reiterate: Fuck Alex Jones, because he took my best friend away from me.
