Aelric - 2008-12-25

You're a loose canon, MacGonigal!!

mountain dew insimination - 2008-12-25

Great clip but -2 cause God I hate that gang of fuckin' pigs

baleen - 2008-12-25

YEAH FUCK THE PIGS FOR TRYING TO STOP A GUY WITH A KNIFE!!!

mountain dew insimination - 2008-12-25

Yeah...by running him over. Wouldn't...I dunno, a taser have done the job? This is real life, not The Shield. Still makes for good poeTV though.

TinManic - 2008-12-25

meh, they use those things like a crutch. glad they found a non-lethal alternative.

mountain dew insimination - 2008-12-25

...yeah 'cause the guy jumped.

TinManic - 2008-12-26

of course he jumped, there was a car coming at him.

baleen - 2008-12-26

Tasers fail. They also kill people. This is a guy who is trying to take on the entire planet with a knife. You can put it on the record that if I go insane and think I'm so superhumanly badass that I can take on a bunch of cops with a knife you have my permission to run me over.

Ever had a knife pulled on you? Those things kill people you know.

Cleaner82 - 2008-12-26

So I'm to understand that you feel hitting this guy with a car was called for because tasers are dangerous. Alrighty then, buddy.

Cleaner82 - 2008-12-26

I will say that the level of sweetness on display here does help address my concerns somewhat.

baleen - 2008-12-26

Why not? A few ruptured organs and broken legs never hurt anybody.

Ruteger - 2008-12-26

This video was from a few years ago when tasers were not widely used in the Toronto police force. Only a small handful had them.

The backstory: This guy was swinging around two large butcher knives on Toronto's busiest street, apparently trying to commit "suicide by cop".

This happened within 2 or 3 weeks of a few other bizarre situations in the city. Shortly after someone drove their van up to Queen's Park (the Ontario legislative building), covered themselves in gasoline and lit themselves on fire. Then we had the lovely hostage situation stand-off outside Union Station, which ended with the hostage taker being shot from one of the forces elite snipers (we apparently have one of the most extensive emergency task forces in the world. Who knew?).

mountain dew insimination - 2008-12-26

Alright well I started this thread so I guess I might as well either finish it or exacerbate it...
Context included this becomes more warranted, so for that maybe I spoke too soon by saying that they should have tased him if in fact they didn't have any. But there is a small fraternal order of American police (can't comment on Canadian) that give the rest of cops a bad name. You know the type I am talking about, the guys with the chips on their shoulders. They are into some fucked up shit and they believe in some fucked up values (ABSOLUTE LAW ENFORCEMENT).

A horrifying recent cultural meme is cop-culture (or lack thereof) seeping into the trashy landscape of Myspace...try this sometime...try to search out the myspace of a random cop with a public profile(you don't have to be a member to do this, I'm not). Then wormhole your way through their top friends and revel in the fucked up ride as you witness the type of mindsets these goons prescribe to. Some people want to take it farther than being a bouncer (no offense to the ample poeTV bouncer demographic, you get paid to put drunk assholes in their place and there ain't a damn thing wrong with that). That's all I'll say. Some people want to take it farther than being a bouncer. My real views would be considered trolling but let me just say that when I say "God I hate that gang of fuckin' pigs" I don't mean THOSE cops I was actually quoting a Leftover Crack song to express what I said I felt earlier, and I still maintain it's a great clip.

Space Helicopter - 2008-12-25

I'm not sure that's proper police procedure.

boba. - 2008-12-25

what city is this?

boba. - 2008-12-25

sorry, youtube answered my question

CharlesSmith - 2008-12-26

I thought it was Toronto when I saw the preloader image, and it turns out I was right.

TinManic - 2008-12-26

the T Dot representin'!

Screwtape - 2008-12-25

Why is it cops use tasers in all the wrong situations, but when its finally warranted they don't have them?

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2008-12-26

Layers of clothing in the winter makes it useless?

Thatcher Pennywhistle - 2008-12-26

ow. ow. ow. ow.

Johnny Madhouse - 2008-12-26

Holy shit.

petep - 2008-12-26

not that i have a problem with this or anything, but, i mean, really?

TeflonDoc - 2008-12-26

Never bring a knife to a carfight. Isn't that the first thing they teach you in bouncer college?

jaunch - 2008-12-26

Well done.

Adham Nu'man - 2008-12-26

How can you not five star this?!? This is as difficult to film properly as female Giant Pandas giving birth, as a Giant Squid attacking a Whale; yet here it is, a long range zoomed in steady shot of a man with a knife on a lonely snow-draped street being pushed into a parking meter by a police car, only to surrender indignant like in an early Chaplin film; and you one star it?!? There's no religion anymore...

Syd Midnight - 2008-12-26

Preach it!

charmlessman - 2008-12-26

So far, looks like nobody one starred this.

Cleaner82 - 2008-12-26

Always be prepared?

sosage - 2008-12-26

I think the best part is when he is jammed there for a second...and everyone is just standing there. Then he springs back to life and the action resumes. Like he was timing a horror movie villain "thought I was dead!" moment, but no one walked up to try and cuff him.

citrusmirakel - 2008-12-26

The ragdoll physics in this game look great!

mouser - 2008-12-26

At the end of the clip you can see a cop that seem to have been sliced.

charmlessman - 2008-12-26

HAH!!! Awesome! That's some precision driving there.

Big Beef Burritos Supreme - 2008-12-26

GTA Toronto looks a little slow and dull compared to the previous versions.

ghostdad - 2008-12-28
