It took two years, but someone finally found a use for the Kinect.

Xbone is a dumb console for dumb people doing dumb things. Also, I love the parents that let their kids play rated M games with strangers on the internet.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2014-01-08 Also online multiplayer games is an inner circle of many kinds of shit.
|
Nominal - 2014-01-08 It's funny how Sony and Microsoft's console have perfectly swapped from where they were last generation. Microsoft flubs their launch with a higher price and asinine decisions, and the Xbone is the console for Sharper Image gadget idiots excited over a dumb feature no one cares about.

Seriously, why in the name of fuck are the players in most of these FPS titles actually physical entities that can block things? I swear 90% of all griefing in almost all online titles magically disappears when people can walk through each other's characters. I know it's not "realistic" (the clarion call of the dysfunctional modern war shooter masturbator), but jesus fuck realism.
|
BorrowedSolution - 2014-01-08 It's the potential for abuse I think. If somebody has a riot shield and four of his buddies walk lock-step with him, barrels no-clipping through the front of the shield..you're going to have a whole lot of bawwing on your hands. That's just one exploit off the top of my head.

Gmork - 2014-01-09 As a game designer, I can tell you almost no game in existence is safe from Malicious User Input.
People get really creative when they want to play dirty.

I liked team shooters better when you couldn't talk to each other. Are there any games without voice options, or can you play this game without having to listen to all the inane chatter?
|
StanleyPain - 2014-01-08 I haven't seen an online FPS in years that doesn't have a "mute all" function. Also, if the Xbox One's system controls are like the 360, there should also be a universal mute in there. Or, optionally, you can just set the console to direct all chat to the headset, then never attach it.
|
RocketBlender - 2014-01-09 When I had a 360, I asked my friend to give me his broken headset, cut the cord off at the base of the plug, then just left it constantly plugged in to my controller. I didn't know there was an option somewhere to redirect all that to a headset that wasn't plugged in, but I essentially did the same thing with my plug.
